Congressional Candidate Gary DeLong Announces Plan

to Visit 100 Businesses in 100 Days
and
Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates Endorsement

Long Beach, CA – Congressional candidate Gary DeLong announced today his plan to visit 100 businesses in the 47th Congressional District within the next 100 days.  Gary will personally meet with owners and workers, listen to their concerns and ideas, and discuss his long-term vision for economic prosperity and job creation for working families in the district.

“My goal is to visit 100 businesses within 100 days because I want to hear firsthand what I can do in Washington to support America’s small businesses.  No one understands what drives our economy more than small business owners, who are responsible for creating 7 million jobs over the last decade,” said Gary DeLong.

The Gary DeLong for Congress campaign is also pleased to announce that Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates has endorsed Gary.  Supervisor Bates’ endorsement joins previous endorsements from:

Former Governor George Deukmejian
Congressman Dan Lungren
Congressman Ed Royce
California State Board of Equalization Vice-Chair Michelle Steel
Los Angeles County Supervisors Mike Antonovich and Don Knabe
Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen
Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens
Long Beach City Auditor Laura Doud
and many other local elected officials

“Orange County needs Gary DeLong in Washington, where he will be an advocate for small businesses,” stated Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates.  ”Gary understands that when businesses are able to prosper, our community is better for it.  He is a proven leader who knows how to balance budgets and create jobs.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of one of Orange County’s most respected elected officials,” DeLong said. “Supervisor Bates’ endorsement demonstrates her commitment to my position that fiscal responsibility and job creation is crucial for the success of our communities.”

Gary DeLong is a third generation Southern Californian who has lived in the Long Beach area for over 25 years. He is currently president of The RTP Group, a Southern California based telecommunications company. DeLong resides in Long Beach with his wife Dawna and daughters Danielle, Elizabeth and Katie.

The new 47th Congressional District is 60% Los Angeles County, including the communities of Avalon, Long Beach, Signal Hill and a portion of Lakewood.  The remaining 40% is in Orange County, including the communities of Cypress, Los Alamitos and Rossmoor, and portions of Garden Grove, Stanton and Westminster.
