Congressional Candidate Gary DeLong Leads in
Campaign Fundraising and Endorsements
Over $400,000 raised in 2011
Long Beach, CA – Congressional candidate Gary DeLong announced today that his campaign has raised over $400,000 in community contributions since announcing his candidacy for California’s 47th Congressional District on August 17th.
“It is gratifying to continue to be the leader in fundraising. It is clear that my goals of reducing the cost of the Federal government, growing the economy, and creating jobs is striking a chord amount voters in the new 47th Congressional District,” DeLong said. “With over 600 individuals contributing to the campaign, these voters believe that sending a small businessman with a track record of balancing City budgets to Congress is a much better option than a career politician. Constituents recognize that the federal government is headed in the wrong direction, and that I understand the need to create an environment that encourages a growing economy and job creation – instead of further punishing employers by higher tax rates and excessive regulation.”
The year end fundraising totals are:
$412,672 Gary DeLong
$205,629 Alan Lowenthal
$ 82,511 Troy Edgar
$ 69,876 Steve Kuykendall
Further, the DeLong for Congress campaign is pleased to announce that Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich has endorsed Gary DeLong, joining the previous endorsements from former Governor George Deukmejian, Congressman Dan Lungren, Congressman Ed Royce, California State Board of Equalization Vice-Chair Michelle Steel, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen, Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, Long Beach City Auditor Laura Doud and many other local elected officials.
“A small businessman and successful local leader, Gary DeLong is a dedicated fiscal conservative committed to our effort to eliminate government waste and fraud, and create jobs with lower taxes and business-friendly economic policies,” stated Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
“It is an honor to have Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich’s endorsement,” DeLong said. “Supervisor Antonovich is well respected for his fiscal conservatism and pro-business policies. He has a well earned reputation for spending taxpayer dollars wisely. We need more elected officials like Supervisor Antonovich.”
Gary DeLong is a third generation Southern Californian who has lived in the Long Beach area for over 25 years. He is currently president of The RTP Group, a Southern California based telecommunications company. DeLong resides in Long Beach with his wife Dawna and daughters Danielle, Elizabeth and Katie.
