Biography of Raúl Labrador
Raúl Labrador was born in Puerto Rico and raised in a single parent household. His mother worked hard to ensure that her son had the opportunity to receive an education. After high school, he went on to obtain a degree from Brigham Young University and later completed his J.D. from the University of Washington. Labrador, an immigration attorney, ran his own law practice until elected to Congress. His political career began in 2006 when he was elected to the Idaho State Legislature representing western Ada County. In 2010, Raúl was elected to represent the people of the first congressional district of Idaho. Raúl and his wife Rebecca are the proud parents of 5 children, Michael, Katerina, Joshua, Diego, and Rafael. Their family is actively involved in their church and community in Eagle, Idaho.

A Family Man
Raul and his wife, Rebecca, are the proud parents of five children – Michael, Katerina, Joshua, Diego and Rafael. They live in Eagle, ID, where the five children are enrolled in the local public schools.
Raul knows the vital nature of family. He was born in Puerto Rico and was raised in a single parent household. His mother struggled to help him obtain a future and a hope. Through a solid belief in the value of education, Raul’s mother moved their small family and Raul obtained a degree from BYU.
Raul and Rebecca are active members of their church and active members of their community. Raul, who is an Eagle Scout, has previously volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America and serves on several state and local Republican committees.
Raul is a successful small businessman and the owner and managing partner of a law firm with offices in Boise and Nampa.
A Conservative Leader
Raul is one of the leading conservatives in the Idaho Legislature. Elected in 2006 to a seat in the Idaho House of Representatives, Raul has been a clear and consistent advocate for Idaho values.
In the Legislature, Raul took the lead in fighting against efforts to raise the gas tax. Recognizing that tax cuts stimulate and help grow Idaho’s economy, Raul proposed comprehensive tax relief for Idaho’s families and businesses. In fact, on nearly every issue important to conservatives, Raul Labrador has been a leader in the Idaho Legislature.
Raul’s commitment to conservative values has been recognized by Idaho’s leading conservative organizations. He has received an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association, and was endorsed and supported in his legislative races by the NRA, Idaho Chooses Life, the Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry and many other pro-family and pro-business groups.
Raul is the only candidate for Congress with a proven record of consistently standing up for our values. He is the rare politician who stands up and fights for what’s right. He knows his chief responsibility as a public servant is to protect the taxpayers, not the special interests. He has kept his promises to his legislative constituents and will keep his promises to you in Congress. More than ever, we need his strong conservative leadership in Congress.
