Born:

  • August 12, 1945 in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Parents:

  • George and Anne (Kirsch) Adams (both deceased)
  • former owners of Anne’s Pastry Shop, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Siblings:

  • Sister, Bethanyanne
  • Brother, Larry (deceased).

Ancestors:

  • The Adams family began to immigrate to New England from southern England in the 1600’s.
  • Many settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and my family branch eventually settled in Wake County, North Carolina in the late 1700’s and worked as farmers.
  • My great, great grandfather, John Waltzer Adams moved to Greenup County, Kentucky (across the Ohio River from Portsmouth) in the mid 1800’s.
  • By the early 1900’s my grandfather, Allen W. Adams, established bakeries in Augusta, Kentucky, Pueblo, Colorado, New Boston, Ohio and subsequently, the Adams Baking Company in Portsmouth, Ohio, est., 1916.
