JEB BUSH ENDORSES RICKY GILL
LODI, CA, January 12, 2012 – Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush today announced his endorsement of Congressional candidate Ricky Gill. After campaigning for Gill earlier this week in Northern California, Bush praised the candidate’s experience and vision.
“I support Ricky Gill because he understands that freedom and opportunity are the essence of this great nation,” Bush said. “Ricky has the ideas and experience needed to fight for the smaller, smarter government that will restore these American ideals. He also has the vision needed to promote education reforms that will ensure all Americans have the right to rise to their fullest potential. He is precisely the kind of candidate we need at this critical moment in our nation’s history.”
Gill, who is challenging incumbent Rep. Jerry McNerney (D-Pleasanton), expressed gratitude for Bush’s endorsement. “Governor Bush is one of our nation’s most respected leaders, and I am honored to have his support,” said Gill. “Governor Bush and I share a commitment not only to substantive, student-centered education reform, but also to building the Republican Party’s appeal to all Americans.”
