GAS PRICES ARE TOO STINKIN’ HIGH:
VERNON ROBINSON KICKS OFF CAMPAIGN FOR CONGRESS AT E-ZEE GAS STATION
IN BISCOE, NC
Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Concord, NC – Biscoe, North Carolina will be the center of excitement, as Vernon Robinson, candidate for Congress in the eighth district formally kicks off his campaign. Vernon Robinson is the principled, true conservative running for Congress against incumbent Democrat Larry Kissell in the eighth district of North Carolina.
The E-ZEE gas station at 306 N. Main St. will be the place to be on Thursday, February 16 at 11:00 AM. Vernon Robinson will be personally pumping gasoline. One thousand gallons of regular unleaded gasoline will be sold for $1.80 a gallon. This is the same price gasoline sold for when Larry Kissell and Barack Obama assumed office in January 2009. Regular unleaded gasoline is currently selling for roughly $3.60 a gallon which is double the price that it was three years ago. The public is cordially invited to fill up their tanks. (One car per family, no commercial vehicles please.) Be there on time, we expect a large number of people.
An interesting note is that Larry Kissell went to a gas station in Biscoe in 2006 when he first ran for ongress decrying the increases in the price of gasoline. He of course blamed those increases on Republicans and in so doing generated a lot of attention because there were large numbers of people and media organizations there. The price then was well below two dollars a gallon.
Vernon Robinson said, “It is a fact that in the three years that Larry Kissell has been in Congress and Barack Obama has been in the White House the price of gasoline has doubled. The price of crude oil has more than doubled. The reason for these outrageous increases are the failed energy and monetary policies pursued by Larry Kissell and Barack Obama.”
Vernon Robinson believes that cheap abundant energy is absolutely critical to the economic prosperity of America. He is committed to getting government out of the way of the private sector so that Americans can find, develop, and produce new sources of energy to power our factories, run our engines, and heat our homes. This principle, together with a strong stable dollar, will result in the free market driving down energy prices
Vernon Robinson has always supported an “all of the above” energy policy. He believes in more oil and gas exploration and extraction. He believes in more coal production. He supports nuclear, wind, and solar sector increases. Vernon Robinson opposes Obama’s moratorium on drilling in the Gulf which only affects American efforts but does nothing to hamper the Chinese or the Venezuelans. Vernon Robinson supports the Keystone pipeline and drilling for oil in ANWR.
Mr. Robinson believes that an “all of the above” energy policy can be done in a way which respects the environment but he refuses to allow radical environmentalists to cripple the American economy. Of every gallon of gas sold, the federal government gets 18.4 cents. The NC state government gets 38.9 cents per gallon. South Carolina and Virginia tax a gallon of gasoline at 16 cents and 17.5 cents, respectively.
After 1,000 gallons of gasoline are sold at E-ZEE Gas in Biscoe, Montgomery County, Vernon Robinson will go to Raleigh, North Carolina to officially file for Congress.
