Biography of Mike Yost

After more than 20-years of serving as a trustworthy neighborhood auto-technician, Mike Yost chose to put his successful career on hold, and literally “walk the walk” knocking on over 12,000 doors to gather signatures necessary to qualify for the August 2010 Republican primary ballot. He and his wife Debra share a home in Jacksonville and have two children and five grandchildren.

Mike believes that life is a journey and that continuing that journey he began in 2009 is more important now than then. His decision to run in 2012 is nothing short of his commitment to service to the people of this State and this District.

Mike has dedicated his life to serving others, and when weighing whether or not to run for Congress in 2009 Mike’s decision came down to whether or not he needed to follow his heart and give the people of the 3rd District hope for the first time in 20 years. Now, we must start today and “Let’s Rebuild America. Together…”

Mike decided that as a good American, as well as a good husband, father and grandfather, he had to run for office to fight for the people of Florida and end the destructive policies of career politicians. Now he continues that quest in 2012 to bring Real Opportunity, Real Prosperity, and Real Leadership for Florida’s 3rd Congressional District.

Mike and Debra are active members of the Jones Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fl. and attend services regularly.
