What Motivates Me

Dear Friend:

As many of you know, I decided to run for Congress in the summer of 2011 because I just couldn’t stand by and watch the country I love and have fought for, the home of my family, be steered down a dark path by people like my opponent, Steve Womack. I was moved to do something then and I’ve made the decision I will never give up the fight.

I will NOT stand by while the family pet of my campaign manager is executed. I will NOT stand by while people are starving. I will NOT stand by while Congress works to cut Social Security and Medicare. I will STAND up for those who can’t fight. And, with your help, I will win.

However, here in the Third District, incumbent Steve Womack has a tremendous boost to his campaign each and every day: the hate-filled, right-wing rhetoric spilled out by KURM 790AM, often with his father in the broadcast chair.

Earlier this week, my campaign launched a drive to raise $7,090 before Sunday to ensure that Congressman Steve Womack is sent packing back to the broadcast chair from the halls of Congress. In two days, we’ve raised nearly $1,000 in online donations and donations brought to our headquarters, but we’re still short of our goal.
