Below is from HILL for President 2012
On September 17, 2011 Christopher V. Hill officially announced his candidacy for President of the United States. Standing on the steps of the historic town hall in his hometown of Bedford New Hampshire, Chris joined working Americans fighting for an end to the big government agenda of career politicians in Washington. “Congress believes they have become Aristocracy in America. It is time to remind Congress they work for us!”
An Airline Captain for United Parcel Service, Chris was born in the heartland of Indiana. His family history is in the small town of Clinton, just north of Terre Haute. “I grew up knowing my grandfather worked in the coal mines as a child. I was reminded of it every time I watched him tie a fishing line. He had to use his middle finger because his right index finger was lost in a coal cart accident. He suffered from Black Lung most of his life. Americans like my grandfather worked hard, didn’t complain, built this nation, and played by the rules.”
Chris lived in New Jersey during his “Tom Sawyer” years before moving to Bedford New Hampshire in 1974. Growing up in the “First in the Nation” primary state, Chris joined his father volunteering for Ronald Reagan’s presidential campaign in 1980. “My parents taught me the importance of making a difference in America.”
Chris is a graduate from the University of New Hampshire ’85 earning a BA in Political Science. He is a Distinguished Graduate of Air Force ROTC and was selected to attend a highly competitive Pilot Training program called Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training. Chris married his high school sweetheart, Michele Gagne of Bedford, in the summer of 1985. Together they left New Hampshire to serve America.
Captain Hill was assigned as a U.S. Air Force Fighter Pilot to the 335th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB NC. In 1990 he was flying the F-4 Phantom when he was selected to transition to America’s newest fighter, the F-15E Strike Eagle. “I flew more than 50 combat missions in Desert Storm. On January 17,1991 we were attacking an oil refinery near Basra Iraq. Coming out of the target area with SAM’s and AAA we lost one of our planes and two great men, Major Tom Koritz and Lt. Col. Donnie Holland. People say ‘Freedom isn’t Free.’ It’s true. Losing friends in battle gives Veterans a unique perspective of war. It is time to ask nations to take responsibility for their own freedom. Unlike Obama’s broken promise, as Commander in Chief I will bring our troops home.”
Chris was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force in 1993. His family returned home to New Hampshire, thankful to be living near family and friends once again. He worked part time loading trucks for UPS at the airport in Manchester NH. “We needed a job and health insurance for our family. Sometimes you do what it takes to get the job done.” In January of 1994 Chris was hired to fly for UPS. Over the last 17 years as an airline pilot he has worked in 48 of the 50 states, Europe, Mexico and Canada. “I enjoy talking with people. During my trips, I have met Americans who make this nation work. Washington Politicians want us to believe we are a Nation Divided. We are not. Most of us are working hard, playing by the rules and raising our families. We are simply Americans.”
By 2010 Chris had seen decades of politicians go to Washington with good intentions only to become part of the Aristocracy. He decided to make a difference. In March 2010 Chris organized “Pilots and Patriots Defending the Constitution.” By November 2010, with over 750 members, they joined many grassroots organizations in America to defeat the agenda of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and remove Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. “Together, Americans said no to Socialism, Wall Street and Hollywood. The voice of the people rang loudly in the halls of Congress. Career politicians, afraid of losing their kingdom, listened.”
Encouraged by Americans who heard him speak, Chris began work on a grassroots Presidential Campaign in early 2011. “Time and again when I spoke of Term Limits for Congress, A Balanced Budget Amendment, Ending the Wars and Bringing the Troops Home people would say, I’d vote for you!.”
Chris spoke at his first public event on August 20, 2011. He joined Herman Cain and others speaking with the New Hampshire Young Republicans in New Castle. By Labor Day Chris had been at events with Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, Buddy Roemer, Gary Johnson, and Thad McCotter. “I believe in New Hampshire’s voters. They will only need 90 days to see the difference between someone who has worked in America his whole life, and Multi-Millionaire Career Politicians who think it is simply their turn to rule the kingdom from Washington. In 2010 voters told me they wanted a candidate they can vote FOR. An American first, not a ‘Citizen of the World.’ A Veteran who took an Oath to the Constitution, not party politics. One who stood by that Oath on the field of battle. Together, our voices will be heard in Washington. We will turn away from the Internationalism that career politicians desire, to the grassroots of the heartland. In 2012 Washington will hear us clearly when we say, America’s Coming Home!”
