Biography of Jacques A. Conway from Neighborhood United Methodist Church
Jacques A. Conway was born on the South Side of Chicago, in the Woodlawn community. The only child of Charles and Patricia Conway. Pastor Conway is a graduate of St. Anselm Catholic School, De La Salle High School and Loyola University of Chicago. He received his Master’s of Divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in 1995 and has pastored two United Methodist Church’s, Christ United Methodist in Englewood and Neighborhood United Methodist in Maywood.
Pastor Conway is the first African-American to retire from the Oak Park Police Department, retiring in 2006, after serving 22 years as a senior sergeant, detective, school resource officer and community police supervisor. Pastor Conway is currently a police chaplain for the Oak Park Police Department and the FOP Illinois State Lodge.
Pastor Conway is married to Dr. LaMenta “Sweetie” Conway, MD and the father of three children: Christian, Caleb and Corey Conway. Pastor Conway motto is a quote from John Wesley “Do All the Good You Can, By All the Means You Can, In All the Ways You Can, At All the Times You Can, To All the People You Can, As Long As You Can”.
