Biography of Frederick Collins from Frederick Collins For Congress 2012
Frederick Collins was born on Chicago’s West side on February 20, 1969. He was raised by two loving and hard working African-American parents, who instilled in him the traditional American values of truth, honesty, justice, respect, and love for his fellow man. From these humble beginnings, Frederick’s desire was to one day serve and protect the innocent and uphold the law. With nearly twenty years of dedicated service as a Chicago Police Officer, Frederick lives his dream and practices the instilled values that his parents once taught him, truth, honesty, justice, respect, and love for his fellow man.
Not only as a Chicago Police Officer does Frederick practice these values, but also as a community activist. In the capacity of a community activist, Frederick volunteers as a mentor at the local Chicago Boys and Girls Club, an active church member of the Open Door Apostolic Church, and as a volunteer to the elderly and disabled living facilities in his community. His heart and compassion leads him to help when and where he can. His motto is “if there is a need, help is on the way”.
Frederick Collins serves also in the capacity of fatherhood. His love and relationship with his three children, gives him knowledgeable insight on parenting in today’s tough society. Frederick takes pride in his children’s educational success and achievements. Though an active member of his community and a fulltime police officer, he remains faithfully involved in his children’s lives, schools, and education. He instills in his children the importance of a good education and the American values once taught to him.
