TOM SMITH COMMENTS ON SENATOR CASEY’S FAILED LEADERSHIP ON CONTRACEPTIVE MANDATE
(Pittsburgh) – Tom Smith, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, today released the following statement in response to Senator Casey’s letter to President Obama encouraging the administration to reverse a birth control mandate that would threaten religious liberty:
“While I am glad to see that Senator Casey is speaking out against this blatant disregard for the Constitution and religious liberty, I am troubled that it has taken almost three weeks,” said Smith. ”This is one more example of a failure of leadership from Senator Casey.”
“Instead, Senator Casey should have broken with his 98% record of voting with the President and opposed Obamacare in the first place,” Smith added.
