Biography of Raymond Blagmon from Blagmon for U.S. Senate
Raymond Blagmon is running for the United States Senate because he believes in public service and serving his country. Raymond Blagmon believes we must create an economy that produces family wage paying jobs for the working families of America; we must balance the budget and bring down the national debt, protect our environment and strongly promote peace.
Raymond Blagmon was born in Richmond, Virginia on March 23, 1968 and grew up on military bases moving around from one base to another. Raymond’s father, Leroy, was an Army transportation Sergeant and his mother, Barbara, was a nursing assistant and mom. Raymond’s father was already drafted to the U.S. Military in 1960′s, before Raymond was born, and served until 1984. The Blagmon family lived at Fort Dix in New Jersey, Fort Schafter in Hawai’i, the Walter Reed Annex in Silver Spring, Maryland, Fort Rucker in Montgomery, Alabama, Fort Dix in New Jersey and then finally back to Silver Spring, MD where is father then retired. At the time of his father’s retirement Raymond attended John F. Kennedy High School where he graduated in 1986.
After high school, Raymond Blagmon attended Howard University and the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1994 and subsequently went on to pass the CPA exam. He went on to expand his education at American University and the University of Chicago where he earned a Master’s of Science in Taxation in 1998 and a MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship in 2002, respectively.
With his extensive academic background, Raymond Blagmon has served as an exemplary CPA for 16 years. But he has shown true leadership by serving his country in the United States Navy Reserves where he is currently a Lieutenant Commander Logistics Officer; he has completed two deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. One in the Persian Gulf and the other in the Horn of Africa, serving in the armed forces and protecting our country comes easy to Raymond. His father served two tours in Vietnam, and his sister served in Operation Desert Storm as a member of the Army.
Raymond Blagmon currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
