Biography of Joe Krysztoforski from JTK for Congress
Joe Krysztoforski’s career spans over 35 years in education, technology, banking, finance, healthcare, emergency management and the political arena. He was CEO of PDS Research Associates, founder and EVP with MedE America Corporation, SVP with First Data Corp, SVP with CES, VP with Citicorp, analyst with First National City Bank and taught high school advanced placement classes. He was a key member of the team that brought jobs to Maryland when Citicorp opened their Washington County processing facility in 1987 and again when Card Establishment Services expanded their operations in 1993.
Joe is a dynamic leader with a long list of accomplishments including company startups, growing businesses and job creation. He is a recipient of the Republican Congressional Medal of Merit and during his tenure as SVP with CES the company was a awarded the U.S. Senate Productivity Medal. The editors of Marquis’s Who’s Who have cited him in multiple editions of Who’s Who in New York; Who’s Who in the East; Who’s Who in Health Care and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
He entered the political arena in 1972 when he worked for passage of the 26th Amendment and continued as a volunteer organizer of various local and state campaigns. He spent over eight years in Washington educating legislators from both parties, including Bob Dole and Chris Dodd, on topics ranging from healthcare reform to the use of technology to prevent fraud. More recently his focus in Washington has been on the economy. energy independence, immigration, national security and threats to the communications infrastructure.
He was a founding director of the Smart Card Forum, Chaired a Health Care Administrative Reform Committee, served on boards including, the Association of Information & Technology Professionals, Paladin Data Systems, PDS Research Associates, SCDPI, Healthcare Information Technology Associates, the Mayor’s City Wide IT Advisor Board. He is a founding director and sits on the board of the Maryland Auxiliary Communications Service.
As a guest lecturer, Joe has lectured at the University of Connecticut, The Medical Records Institute, Healthcare Information Management Society, CardTec Security Conferences and financial service conferences. He has appeared as a guest on talk shows including WMRH radio’s The Open MIC, The Greg McClain Show, KNEWS radio’s On Your Side, Business Day Arizona, DC Business, Good Morning Tri-State with Kelly Spinner, and Blog Talk Radio.
Joe is active with 6th District Community Emergency Response Teams; he is a Communications Advisor to the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management; advisor to County Emergency Communications Groups and works with the Office of Homeland Security overseeing a group of 58 volunteers responsible for emergency communications.
Family:
Joe and his wife Fran met in 1975, have been together for 30 years and have one adult child. Fran is a Vice President with a Financial Service company. They have resided in Maryland since 1988 and are members of the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier.
