[2015 Bio] Pete Aguilar represents the 31st Congressional District of California. He was sworn in January 6, 2015 and serves on the Armed Services and Agriculture Committees.
Raising his family in the community his family has called home for four generations, Representative Aguilar understands the challenges that Inland Empire’s families face today. He started his first job at the age of twelve, working with his grandfather at the San Bernardino County Courthouse cafeteria. He then put himself through college with the assistance of student loans and federal grants, and later established a life in public service to give back to his community.
Representative Aguilar is a voice for middle class families throughout San Bernardino County and prioritizes legislation that will nurture a more fair economy, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. He is committed to policies that create jobs, support our students, and safeguard vital programs for seniors and veterans.
Representative Aguilar previously served as the Mayor of Redlands, where he earned a reputation for his bipartisanship and steadfast commitment to making his community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. He resides in Redlands with his wife Alisha and their two sons.

[2012 Bio] Pete Aguilar (D) is a small business owner and elected city councilmember from Redlands.
He is a fourth generation resident of the Inland Empire, part of a working class family that has lived by the common-sense values of hard work, education, family and community.
Pete was born in Fontana, and spent his early years growing up with his parents and older brother in San Bernardino. One of his first jobs was helping his grandfather, who was legally blind, work at the San Bernardino County Courthouse Cafeteria. Later, his family would move to Yucaipa, where Pete attended Yucaipa Middle, Junior and High Schools. Pete went on to attend the University of Redlands, where he graduated with degrees in Government and Business Administration.
Pete first entered public service in 2001, serving as Deputy Director and later Interim Director for the Inland Empire Regional Office of the Governor.
In 2006, Pete was appointed to the Redlands City Council, making him the youngest serving councilmember in the city’s 125-year history, and the following year won the election for the same council seat.
Today, Pete serves as Mayor of Redlands, where he has led efforts to reduce the city’s budget deficit, establish a reserve fund, equip police with more tools to fight crime and make critical investments in local roads and infrastructure.
Pete and his wife Alisha live in Redlands with their two sons.

[2012 Bio] Pete Aguilar is a Redlands City Councilmember serving as Mayor.
Since 2006, Pete has been a member of the Redlands City Council having first been appointed to serve in a vacated seat before running and winning citywide election in 2007. He is currently President of the League of California Cities, Inland Empire Division and also serves the City on regional boards and commissions.
Professionally, Pete is a small business owner of his own government affairs consulting firm. Previously Pete served as Director of Governmental Relations for a financial institution working with federal, state, and local elected officials. Prior to that, Pete was appointed by Governor Gray Davis as Deputy Director and later Interim Director for the Inland Empire Regional Office of the Governor in July 2001.
Pete is currently on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of the East Valley and serves as an Advisory Board Member to Redlands Community Hospital and the THINK Together Inland Empire Leadership Council. He served the San Bernardino Affiliate of Habitat for Humanity as President of the Board of Directors for two years, earning Volunteer of the Year honors for his work with the organization. He was also appointed in 2009 by the Speaker of the State Assembly to serve as one of 5 statewide directors to the Consumer Motor Vehicle Recovery Corporation.
He has received Professional Awards as the top “Political Professional” from the California Credit Union League statewide trade association, the University of Redlands HOPE Centennial Award, and was honored as one of Assemblymember Amina Carter’s top “30 under 30″ within the Inland Empire.
Pete earned degrees in Government and Business Administration from the University of Redlands.
Pete and his wife Alisha have lived in Redlands since 1997 and have two sons, Palmer and Evan.
