Biography of Rick Snuffer from Snuffer US Congress
Born and raised here, Rick Snuffer has a heart for West Virginia. At age 11, he began working with his Dad and Grandfather in the Construction Industry during summers and holidays. He attended Beckley College where he met and married the Love of his life, Lori (Basham) Snuffer.
Succeeding in business became their focus and Rick worked long and hard as a laborer, carpenter, electrician, and all the other rungs of the ladder until he had worked his way up to become Vice-President of the company. “I started at the bottom and learned every phase of the business on the way as I worked harder and gained more responsibility.”
In 2003, Rick entered the political arena to run for Congress against Nick Rahall.
After defeating Congressman Rahall in his home county of Raleigh, Rick decided to launch his own business in order to better balance his obligations of family, ministry, and continuing to work in politics.
Rick is a graduate of Bluefield State College and is currently enrolled at Marshall University to complete his Masters Degree in ‘Leadership Studies’.
Rick has given of himself in service as a volunteer at the YMCA and helped veterans at the Beckley VA Hospital and Nursing Home. He mentors young men through the steps of starting their own businesses and is the Construction Manager and on the Board of Directors for New River Habitat for Humanity. He is also an ordained minister and has served in almost every capacity of the local church and has ministered to those of many different denominations.
Rick was elected to serve the people of West Virginia as a legislator and has worked with his colleagues on both ‘sides of the aisle’ to help make YOUR government more accountable to YOU!! (You can follow Rick’s work for you by logging onto www.snufferwv.com )
