Biography of Wade Brown from Wade Brown for Congress

Wade Brown was born to Johnny and Kay Brown in Big Lake, Texas on February 11, 1970.

A graduate of Jack C. Hays High School, he attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood and graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. He has a bachelor’s summa cum laude in geography, with minors in Spanish and education. Beyond his bachelor’s, Wade is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School (USMC), and has studied Arabic, cartography, deaf education, and Divinity in both baccalaureate and graduate settings. He is currently enrolled in Marine Corps Command and Staff College.

Wade is a major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and serves with Marine Aircraft Group-41 in Fort Worth, Texas. In his most recent assignment with the 2d Marine Division, he served in a lieutenant colonel billet leading a senior staff responsible for accountability and maintenance policy implementation for roughly 25% of the Marine Corps’ total active ground combat equipment. He has served a total of over 12 years on active duty in the Marine Corps and previously served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, entering boot camp on June 4, 1991. He is a combat veteran with three deployments.

Prior to his military service, Wade owned and operated two small businesses full-time for three years, including a commercial and residential Christmas decoration company and a residential salt delivery business. He is an entrepreneur at heart, and is currently self-employed in real estate investing and additional business start-up activities.

Prior to his business endeavors, Wade served as a high school teacher covering the subjects of Spanish and geography. He thoroughly enjoys working with youth and for a short period of time served as a youth minister at First Baptist Church, Buda, Texas.

Wade has traveled to Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Djibouti, and Italy, variously as tourist, missionary and Marine. He has lived in Virginia, California, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, and aboard the USS Peleliu, USS Belleau Wood, and USS Denver. He has crossed the Pacific and Indian Oceans thrice by sea and has been on every continent except Antarctica. He currently resides in May, Texas with his wife Sarah and their four children, Samuel, Abigail, Clara, and Oliver.
