Biography of Linda Mrosko from Linda Mrosko for Congress
Born in Bastrop, Texas in 1952 to my parents, Doris and Percy Mrosko, who now both reside in Temple, Texas, where I was raised. I have also lived in San Marcos, Dallas, Mesquite, and the Van Zandt County side of Mabank, Texas. I currently reside on the Henderson County side of Cedar Creek Lake near Payne Springs.
Graduated from Temple High School in 1970; attended Temple Junior College where I earned my Associate of Arts in 1972; attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, for approximately two years.
While still living in Dallas, I attended Southern Methodist University at night and obtained my Business Law Certificate of Specialization for Legal Assistants in 1986.
Currently employed as a Legal Assistant at Weinstein Law in Athens, Texas.
Currently President of the Texas Democratic Women of Henderson County, a Precinct Chair for 2PSS in Henderson County, and a Voter Registrar.
Served on the Board of Directors for The Dance Council in Dallas from 2002-2003.
Also served as President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship at the First Christian Church in Mesquite, Texas, for two years.
Served as President of North Texas Traditional Dance Society (NTTDS) located in Dallas from 1994-1996 and have been a member of NTTDS since 1990. I regularly teach and call contra dances, barn dances, re-enactments of Civil War Balls, and English Country dances in Dallas, Denton, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Bryan/College Station, Nacogdoches, irving, Athens, Tyler, Longview, Oklahoma City, etc.
In 2011, I was named Honorary Member of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Conference (RYLA), Rotary District 5790.
