He is a former US Justice Department attorney and Federal Prosecutor in Houston before entering private law practice with his wife, Judy Kurth Dougherty. Their law firm, Dougherty & Dougherty, handles primarily family, divorce, custody, both collaborative & contested.
Jim & Judy have been married for over 40 years. They have two children & two grandchildren.
