- USAF pilot and instructor for 20 years, retired in 1991 with an Honorable Discharge, as a Lt. Col. serving at the Pentagon, where I determined what classified access and weapons systems our allies could obtain.
- Top Secret clearance holder
- Retired from Northwest Airlines in 2007
- BS in Political Science, Ball State University-1969
- Masters in Management and Supervision from Central MI University in 1984.
- Held political office as a town board member
- Attended numerous Air Force schools, including the Presidio of Monterey CA in 1985 and serving at US Embassy in Ecuador as the USAF Representative.
- Fluent in Spanish and translated while at the Pentagon.
- My wife, Darlene, and I have been married for 42 years. Our daughter and son are grown and live in the Austin area. We belong to Unity Church of the Hills in Austin.
- I am an active NRA member and we own a small Piper Tripacer.
