Participated in and prepared a chapter for the prestigious American Assembly meetings on Financial Services, which involved top level regulators, businessmen, and academics who met to prepare proposals for the reform of the U.S. Financial system in the early 1980’s.
Coauthored numerous editions of a leading college textbook titled Financial Institutions, Markets and Money (most recently published by John Wiley & Sons in 2006).
Authored book for the general public titled The REAL Social Security Problem: What Everyone Must Know Before It’s too Late (Financial Economics Publications, 1998).
Has owned and managed real estate and a wide variety of financial assets, and was CEO of Lubbock Asset Management, Inc.

Family
Wife, Carol, taught computing and was Area Coordinator for Micro-computing for many years at South Plains College in Lubbock before retiring in 2001. Presently she is an award winning watercolor artist.
Three Children all graduated from Lubbock High where they participated in athletics and the LEAP Academic Program. One each graduated with honors from Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and the University of Texas. Two are now medical doctors and the third has done extensive work in Medical Economics.
