Biography of Adela Garza from Committee to Elect Adela Garza

Adela Garza is a local businesswoman with a passion for education and public service.

She is a member of the Texas Southmost College Board of Trustees, a position she has served since 2008. She has led efforts to keep a strong community college system in Cameron County.

A former member of the Los Fresnos CISD Board of Trustees and Cameron County Irrigation District Board, Adela has served on numerous civic boards, including the Texas Council of Community, Mental Health and Mental Retardation Centers and the Healthy Communities of Brownsville. She and her husband, Faustino, own Tino’s Prescription Shop, a small pharmacy in Brownsville. They are the parents of four children: Rene, Jon, Patricia and Tina; and the proud grandparents of two granddaughters, Amanda Scout and Andrea Renee. Adela is a member of Lord of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, where she co-chairs the Building Committee.

Adela grew up in a working class family where she learned what became the foundation of her life. She is your candidate who values faith, education, hard work and strong family values. Adela has a strong commitment to our veterans, this great country’s fiscal responsibilities, the rights of the unborn, and our state’s rights.
