Biography of Korey Reiman from Reiman for Congress

Korey Reiman entered the race against Congressman Fortenberry on March 1, 2012. After years of watching Congress unable to work together, Reiman decided to run and give a voice to those who watch in frustration as our leaders bicker and position for political gain rather than solve problems.

This is the greatest Nation in the World because it is “of the people, by the people.” It is time for Nebraskans to send one of their own to represent them in Washington.

Korey grew up on a farm in rural Pawnee County, Nebraska and worked on the farm through college. He went to Peru State College, played football for the bobcats, and obtained a teachers degree. Korey then went to the University of Nebraska Law College.

Reiman has lived in Lincoln since 1996, when he moved to Lincoln to attend law school. During his second year he began clerking for John Stevens Berry and represented disabled veterans obtain disability benefits from the VA. Helping veterans came natural as his father served in Vietnam as a Corpsman for the Marines and lost his leg when he stepped on a land mine; one grandfather served in WWI; and his other grandfather served in WWII and was part of General Patton’s drive to relieve the American solders during the seize of Bastonge in 1944.

Upon his graduation from law school, he continued to fight for veterans. He also represented average citizens who had run afoul with the law in addition to his work with veterans.

In 2004 Korey started his own solo practice and represents everyday working Nebraskans. Seeing a person down on their luck turn it around and begin contributing to society, becoming a good parent, overcoming addiction is one reason Korey loves the work he does. Korey and his wife Melissa have a daughter Isabella, a son Elias, and their beautiful 8 month old son Ethan. Korey volunteers with his son’s YMCA soccer team, despite his scant knowledge of soccer.

Reiman believes a simple principle, that if you work hard in your life you will succeed. Unfortunately, due to Corporate influence and political debts, this simple idea is being lost. Reiman will vote based upon that simple principle, will this law help our citizens succeed if they work hard. Like you, he simply wants a better Country for his family.
