Catherine “Cat” Ping
Cat Ping Congressional Candidate Indiana District 7
Candidate, United States House of Representatives, District 7, 2008
I am a long-time resident on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Me and my husband Jeff have been at our home for the past 24 years. I am the owner of a small IT company, Data Dudes of Indy, LLC., which my husband operates in my absence. I also serves in the United States Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Currently, I am finishing up a one-year tour at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where I volunteered to serve my country as a Communications Officer for the Army Global Network Operations and Security Center. Where I am the Chief of Plans and Exercises, which is a 24 x 7 operations center defending the LandWarNet. I returned home the end of March 2008. I am the everyday girl next door, who grew-up with strong family values and work ethics. Those same values and ethics have served me well when I made the Military a Career, and easily transition to Army Strong Values. My military career began as an enlisted private in the Indiana Army National Guard. I graduated from the Indiana Military Academy in 1987 and received my commission as a Second Lieutenant Signal Officer. I spent the next 16 years setting goals, working hard, training and achieving results, which gained me the rank I currently holds. Some of my past assignments have been as a small group leader, a commander, a brigade staff officer, an ROTC Assistant Professor of Military Science at Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, and as an instructor training company grade officers to be field grade staff officers with higher levels of responsibility. In 2003, now a Major I transferred to the Army Reserves where I continues to serve my country and community. As a civilian, I have work in the Administrative, Sales and Marketing fields for small to medium size companies. These past working assignments have helped pave the way for my success as an entrepreneur and successful business woman. While working two jobs, I earned my degree in Business Administration from North Wood University in 1995, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I have always advocated for a stronger voice to represent the people. Someone who can relate to the people’s needs, because they’re shared…someone whose only interest is making a difference for the good of the people…someone that resonates with the many, and not just a few. And mostly, someone we can trust to bring maturity, experience and leadership to bear in crucial moments of decision making when serving the best interests of our community. That candidate is me, Cat Ping. A proven leader serving my country, our community and as a business owner, I will provide a fresh perspective with new beginnings toward change. A results oriented, hard working, dedicated servant of the people and for the people that will stay the course with strength of purpose the people deserve.
