Death on Campus

It is horrifying to think this would continue to happen in the United States. This is not an isolated event, which is also disturbing. This is happening state after state. No one has tried to even stop the perpetrators. There modus operandi is the same state after state.  One of the latest victims are students at Indiana University South Bend.

Without regard the faculties seemingly are encouraging students to strike against anyone or any company that does not comply with their far left agenda. Those that espouse that they are against discrimination, seem to be the biggest discriminators. Case in point, Indiana University South Bend, Chick-fil-A’s local franchise is removed from campus. Why, you ask, it is because Chick-fil-A donates to pro-family organizations and as a company does not march lock step with GLBT movement. Chancellor Reck did reinstate the local franchise. (See statement here.)

There are some 20 plus campuses where this is happening. The liberals at these colleges are all about the First Amendment and ending discrimination. It appears the line is drawn when they disagree. Then it becomes acceptable to stand there on their ivory soapboxes and spew all forms of hate speech.  Discrimination is now acceptable and the norm to be used as though a dual edged sword and not to be yielded against any foe. It is as though they are hunting witches in Salem.

The place that we have been told must be accepting of all forms of thought and expression. The place where you are to be free to mental grow and experience what life has to offer. It turns out that we are subjecting these students to the worst of a progressive communist fascist state. We are not teaching tolerance. We are teaching hate and intolerance.

There once was a man that had a goose and that goose did lay golden eggs. This must be a lesson not taught at these schools. There will be a day when the donations dry up, maybe then they will learn the lesson.  One day that grant will be up and rather than getting a renewal, that money will be given somewhere else.  That is what happens to hate and intolerance.

Full disclosure, I do not eat fast food and never eat chicken from a restaurant.  However, if I were a student again I would promote a buycott of Chick-fil-A. Not because they promote pro-family activities but because the discrimination being heap upon them is miss directed and unmerited in its present form.

Now Robin Roberts of GMA is the latest victim in the Chick-fil-A attack. Queerty, a gay website, has reported that Robin Roberts “is headlining a leadership conference put on by Chick-fil-A. What is this lesbian smoking?” They go on to write “Roberts, who to our knowledge has never acknowledged her sexuality in public…” yet they drone onward.

It is apparent that these leaders have no understanding of marketing. So here are a few tips. First the school issue, rather than try and throw Chick-fil-A off campus, have you even looked at the local owner or his employees. You might find that there are employees that are gay. Do you really want to put that person on unemployment? Does the local owner agree with Chick-fil-A corporate owners? Let your friends and the owner know what you think about their policies. The free market has a way of ending discrimination on its own, so help it do so, if that is your true aim.

Secondly and this seems to be the most repeated mistake that groups make, stop shooting yourself in the foot. If Robin Roberts is gay, since I do not know her I can’t make that call, should you not promote that Chick-fil-A just might be changing their stance on gay and lesbian issues. That they are starting to be accepting of GLBT issues. They probably are not, but they will have to make a public statement and that would give you grounds for further action. It would also get your message out.

It appears though that you prefer to use thug tactics. That is not conducive to civil discourse. If you ask someone why about something, they have the opportunity to explain the reasons for what they believe. That will give you the chance to discuss belief systems and explain yours.  They may not agree at first or every, but there will be a point where there may be respect for being respectful. Try that high ground, you may find you like it and besides the view is better.

Pretty stupid to get all hysterical over a crappy fast food place that got the boot for being pig headed. But hey, par for the course for Tax Evader Apologist Party.

Sounds to me like they got the boot because they chose to donate to an organization that is not fond of gayness. But that is how the looney left does. Some just don’t get it that not everyone wants to be gay or thinks it normal. This does not make them “haters”. It just expresses their opinion.
