Gold and Silver

Thirteen states are looking at making gold and silver coins, from the US Mint, legal tender; Georgia, Montana, Missouri, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, and Vermont.

The Utah House, on Thursday 4th of March, passed H.B. 317 Substitute Currency Amendments, by a vote of 47-26-2. This was sent to the Utah Senate.

It is a sad day when several of the States are forced to look at other forms of legal tender. It reflects the fact that the poor monetary policy of the Federal Reserve Bank and a complete disregard of basic economics 101 by past congresses have brought them to this point.

The several States need to receive revenue from their citizens. By accepting gold and silver coins they have acknowledge that their respective citizens are beginning to lose faith in the currency of the realm, or at a minimum are preparing for the worst.

Is this what we will see from the remaining several States? How long will it be before, it is not just the States?
