The Iowa Crown
9 PM eastern tonight, the Iowa Republican Party, Fox News, and The Washington Examiner host the first Iowa Presidential debate. It will be televised on Fox News and live streamed on their website.
This debate is the lead up to Ames Straw Poll on Saturday, August 13, 2011. At 9am the gates open, at 10am voting begins, at 12pm program begins, and at 4pm voting closes; once those votes are released we will find out where the candidates stand.
The candidates that will be debating are as follows (click there name for their bio)…
- Michele Bachmann, Congresswoman from Minnesota
- Herman Cain, CEO of Godfather’s Pizza
- Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House
- Jon Huntsman, U.S. Ambassador to China
- Ron Paul, U.S. Representative from Texas
- Tim Pawlenty, former governor of Minnesota
- Mitt Romney, Former Governor of Massachusetts
- Rick Santorum, former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania
This is somewhat larger than the GOP Presidential debate in South Carolina. Looking forward to the debate we get a little commentary.
