The Real Estate That Trump Wants

The mere thought of a man who has built a reputation of surviving bankruptcy a few times and still manages to become a profitable billionaire, with a shot at being elected president, leaves me dreaming of prosperous possibilities. The White House is a coveted piece of real-estate Donald Trump hasn’t yet secured. He told USA today that if he were to become president “America will be respected again.” That’s the spirit! I’m looking for someone to lead our country with a little piss and vinegar. How can America currently be respected when it can’t live within its means, make up its mind on serious issues such as terrorism and illegal aliens, create fair trade to grow businesses who create the kinds of jobs that are sustainable, disrespect our troops, encourage laziness and entitlement through treating its citizens as the spoiled brats some of them have become, completely ignore personal responsibility and when contradicted fall back on the excuse of “racism” just to mention a few?
Trump is exciting the possibilities of the kind of economic recovery that may be what we all need. Aside from that, if he doesn’t run, he’s had the cojones to call a spade a spade, not dance around the subject, be direct and put his actions and money where his mouth goes. So who cares if he’s expressed interest in running previously? Even if he chose not to run, he’s struck a match under the sleepy Republican Party for instance, by correctly stating that Ron Paul for one won’t be able to win in the Presidential election and I think he’s right. But take heed that a direct comment like that spurs action to prove him wrong. And what’s wrong with good old competition? Likewise his continuing questioning of Obama’s birth certificate stirs up a sleepy apathetic citizenry. He’s not stating that the birth certificate doesn’t exist or that Obama wasn’t born in the US but he is raising the fact that no other President has ever blatantly refused to prove one of the basic qualifications to being leader of our country. Why? And should not all qualifying documents for the highest position in the nation be recorded at least with the Justice System prior to inauguration of an elected president? Perhaps Obama is using the lack of concern and arrogance in answering repeated requests to produce a copy of the certificate as a distraction to the real truth? You decide, but I for one, would love to just see a copy so in my mind, at least I can back the poor guy. After all, Obama is president and to a degree commands some respect. I just wish he inspired confidence.
Getting back to “the Donald”, he stated unequivocally that he is pro-life and anti-gun control. Perhaps it’s his comment that “I will fight Obamacare and replace it with something that makes sense for people in business and not bankrupt the country” that is said with a little bit of personal experience. He’s also vowed not to raise taxes. Oh wait, he doesn’t pay his fair share according to those Democrats who also would be in the high income category. He “gets it” where the professional politician just doesn’t. Fiscal conservatism and working for your worth is the foundation for any prosperity to occur. Addressing the tremendous trade deficit we have with China is best conquered by a businessman where Obama has proven politicians can’t. Trump didn’t become this wealthy by accident or birthright. He had a head start with his family business admittedly but he didn’t lose it all and he grew his wealth. Bottom line, our country should be so blessed with people to help it do the same in some way.
Gail Collins, Op Ed Columnist for the (tongue in cheek) very fair and balanced New York Times is not so impressed. Nor is she very impressed with Bill O’Reilly to whom she compared Trump. The fact that the man runs a reality show which is, at its best, a money maker (uh Ms. Collins…..that means positive cash flow) and at its worst, entertainment from boredom; that his businesses have had their ups and downs over the years; had some bankrupt casino and properties here and there and started out struggling with some real estate from his father, does not make him a looney-toon candidate for the Presidency. On the contrary, I contend Trump just might create enough excitement and stir up the complacent Republican Party that whoever gets the nomination should have momentum. After all, isn’t that how Obama snuck in? Everyone wants to discount Trump’s notoriety by attributing it to his reality show. Actually, I think Trump’s hair has more recognition than his reality show! And maybe, just maybe Ms. Collins didn’t appreciate, after her first volley towards Trump disparaging him as a “thousandaire”, his retort about her face.
SSHHHH.Keep dreaming and don”t forget to drink your kool-aid no wait your piss and vinegar..
