A Vote For Michelle Is A Vote For Barak
The Iowa straw poll has been completed and Michelle Bachmann and Ron Paul were the big winners because they managed to, literally, buy more votes than the other candidates. This is why the Iowa straw poll is probably the most overrated and meaningless event in Presidential politics. If this event were held next March, no one outside the state of Iowa would even hear about much less care who won. It is only significant because it is the first event in the presidential election process and, because of that, the media makes a big deal out of a vote that means nothing, whose votes are basically bought and total a whopping 16,000.
The event itself is a waste of time and will have no bearing on the outcome of the election, which is a very good thing. Otherwise, the results would be a huge victory for Barak Obama. Every vote for Michelle Bachmann is a vote for President Obama’s reelection.
Once again, and I am not going to drop this until she is gone from the race, Michelle Bachmann cannot win the general election. There is no way she will be able to attract enough independent voters to defeat Obama. The numbers simply are not there. She can prattle on all she wants about her ability to attract independents but, I am from Minnesota and we know better. The only reason she won her Congressional election is because the Dems nominated someone less acceptable than her.
There is nothing personal about this. I don’t have a problem with a lot of her positions. In fact, if it really comes down to a choice between her and The One, I will vote for her because she will likely bring better people to Washington with her than Obama has. But, she cannot win.
In ’08 independents went for Obama by a ratio of 3 to 2. Right now, they have left him by at least that much. This election is the Republicans to lose. All they have to do is nominate a candidate that can continue that trend among independents and Obama is sent packing by a huge margin. Michelle Bachmann is not only Obama’s best hope, she is his only hope. And, if she is nominated, he gets four more years.
Besides, where have we seen this before? An extremist candidate with no record, no executive experience, and no accomplishments other than the ability to charm a crowd, gets people all excited and wins. Sounds a lot like the guy we have now. How has that worked out?
I keep hearing over and over that conservatives get it. That they will get behind any candidate that can defeat Obama. Michelle Bacmann is the only GOP candidate that can’t do that. Please stop flirting with this disaster.
