Her son Brian and wife Christy have a two year-old son and reside in Denver, Colorado. Together for thirty years, her husband died in 2004. She continued working at her business of Medical Billing where she became an advocate for health care reform. After nineteen years of experience working in the healthcare industry, she was deeply aware of the trust that has been broken by the insurance and drug companies.
She presided as President of the Jupiter chapter of Business and Professional Women Foundation and became involved in the politics of equal pay for women. Today, women’s issues are more important than ever and she is dedicated to maintaining the hard fought rights women have achieved.
Joyce became active in politics and soon became the Volunteer Coordinator in Northern Palm Beach County, Florida during the 2004 Presidential campaign. There she learned the in depth procedures needed to run a grass roots campaign.
She has traveled extensively with the purpose of joining with people from around the globe in finding ways to heal the planet. She believes we have to reconnect with our hearts so we can make decisions in a more profound and compassionate way.
In pursuit of her vision of justice and equanimity, she sold her business and moved to Oregon in 2009. She chose to dedicate her life in a more direct way by becoming the candidate for US Congress in Oregon’s 2nd District. Her strong beliefs and compassionate outlook for each and every person in this country have fueled her energies toward a return to the vision under which this country was born.
This is Joyce’s second time running for the Congressional seat and states she can no longer be quiet about the issues facing our district and country. Her vision is to empower each citizen to be heard and truly acknowledged by those they elected as their leaders. She promises to be that leader.
It is time for conscious and consciousness to dictate our decisions.
