Betsy Dewey Congressional Candidate Texas District 25
Biography of Betsy Dewey from Betsy Dewey for US Congress
Betsy is running for US Congress for one reason – to reduce the size and scope of the Government. Her positions are very clear, sometimes painfully so. Her goal is to carry the torch of Ron Paul, and to play a role in the growing Liberty movement – the one that cheers individual freedom, personal responsibility, and small government – all under the umbrella of non-aggression. Let your neighbor be, and just be.
Millions of Americans have fought and died that there might be a truly free place for their families and themselves to call home. Betsy believes that this Freedom should never be squandered and must continually be monitored. The interpretability of the NDAA bill of 2012 is what pushed Betsy to run for Congress. There should never be a question as to whether or not American citizens can be “detained” indefinitely upon suspicion alone. The right to a fair trial is a basic American right as spelled out in the Bill of Rights.
Betsy grew up in Houston, TX, graduated from Vanderbilt University with degrees in English, Creative Writing, and French. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina. She has since been a business owner, a mom, a performing musician, a Constitutionalist, a member of the DAR, and a Libertarian.
