Theodore H. “Ted” “Teddy” Corriher
Teddy Corriher Senatorial Candidate North Carolina, Class II
Biography of Teddy Corriher from Ted Corriher for Senate
Theodore (Ted) H. Corriher was born and raised in Newton, North Carolina into a family business of tractor and implement sales and service. From a small town with deep roots, Ted has been involved in the farming community from day one, allowing him to know and understand what local families have and are experiencing through the changing times. Not all small town, Ted owns and operates T.C. Corriher Implement Company located in downtown Newton, and EverythingAttachments.com a successful online implement business also located at his downtown Newton offices.
Ted is also and inventor, his patent-pending front brake system for zero-turn lawnmowers has the full potential to save lives and revolutionize safety on these machines. Currently in progress of promoting this to the lawn mower manufacturers Ted has become a voice for safety. Taking part in online forums to discuss among the contractors that use the machines daily and find out what their needs are and how to meet them. He has caused quite a stir in the right direction.
His business practices have not gone unnoticed. In May 2007, Ted was featured in an Entrepreneur magazine article titled “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” for taking his business online and turning it into an online success with E-bay. Already the third largest New Holland tractor dealer in the U.S., his willingness to take the leap into new territory shook the industry up and changed the game of selling farm equipment forever. No longer a tractor dealer, Ted has re-defined his dealership into an online attachment and implement business only. Creating the largest online store for this industry has had its challenges, but Ted has a talent for making things work.
Through Ted’s business experience and success he has had the opportunity to take a nation-wide look into business and the economies that support his online success. Along with his relationships with other business owners and people in general he has concluded to one thing; something has change.
Many years of hard work and riding the ups and downs of business in farming, Ted sees that the corporate take-over of farms is the beginning of a huge mistake. When food becomes controlled by a few, the results could be just like the oil industry; Price hikes as they see fit, “shortages”, war over supply, you get the idea. This may seem a bit far-fetched but, if the same greed that invades countries and takes control of natural resources takes hold, be ready to grow your own food.
Corporate America sellouts to other countries, factory jobs and now tech jobs moving overseas: all have created an enormous obstacle in our economy. Tax breaks for the top one percent and no breaks at all for the rest are stifling the growth that is so very needed today. Funny that the same top one percent with tax cuts approved are the ones voting on the rules for everyone else. Not so funny is the fact that no one seems to be paying attention. Ted wants to change that.
