Jim Allen Congressional Candidate North Carolina District 4

Biography of Jim Allen from Jim Allen for Congress

Jim Allen is a 45 year old from Burlington North Carolina. He was an electrical contractor for 20 years. He graduated from Hugh M Cummings High School and attended UNC Greensboro where he studied history.
His father Jim Allen Sr. owned and operated Midview Furniture Store in Burlington NC. Jims father died in 1977 when he was 11 years old.
His mother Bonnie Hardin Allen was a home maker until her husbands death. But after her husbands death Bonnie was forced to work sixty hours a week or more waiting tables to provide for Jim and his 2 sisters.
“At an early age I learned the value of hard work. I worked performing odd jobs to help the family with the finances.” Said Jim.
The family struggled for many years. Jim grew up defending his mother who was a widow with three children. This was a huge factor in the development of Jim’s character.
These were hard times in the late 70′s. There was a feeling of despair for many people. Confidence was low the economy was not good to say the least, interest rates were well in excess of 20%, inflation was at a critical point. Then a remarkable thing happened in the 1980 election. A gentleman came along named Ronald Reagan who brought stability, hope, and confidence. This inspired Jim and molded him politically. He became a conservative republican at an early age, although he is out of the box on some issues as you can read here on the site. Jim believes absolutely that the people come first over party affiliation. The people come first period!
“Why I am running for Congress”
Jim’s son was abducted (illegally retained) in Colombia, South America. Jim found very quickly our government’s inability and unwillingness to step in and step up for his son, a United States citizen. And get him returned to the United States. Jim also found that politics and diplomacy were put before the peoples interest and protection. So Jim decided to run for US Congress in the fourth district in NC. The only thing that has been preserved in Jim’s fight for justice has been his self respect, and his respect for others. In his struggles for justice, he has met many people that have been placed below and behind by the ones elected to serve us. Many examples of this will be mentioned soon.
So Jim decided to run for Congress, and he will call it like it is. He intends to to call out publicly and by name all Congressmen and woman, as well as Senators and appointed Federal officials that are not following the laws on insider stock trading, as well as those who take earmark’s, and are not protecting their constituents rights as well as children’s constitutional rights, and putting politics over people.
Jim has been threatened that if he were to do this, he would be stabbed in the back, by politicians and would be hit with lawsuits from Democrats and Republicans alike. Jim’s repeated reply has been, “if elected I will go into office with the clothes on my back and I don’t care if I leave the office with the clothes on my back.”
Jim’s belief is simple if one constituent is unfairly treated, or intentionally cheated by their Representatives be they Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, etc. then Jim’s belief is that their constitutional rights have been trampled on. He became a Christian in 1999. And he will do unto others what he would want others to do unto him. He will fight for the people of the sixth district with all his heart to ensure NO ONE gets forgotten.
“It has got to the point where our public servants think that they are our Over Lords, rather than our Public Servants. In order to lead they have to serve the greater good. Too many politicians are not doing that anymore. They are too comfortable with careers in Congress and the Senate with big money coming to them from lobbyists sometimes even after they leave office. They place politics over we the people almost all the time, especially with our jobs and economy.”
That is why Jim proposes that Congressional salaries be cut to $40,000 a year during recessions, this will make them do what is needed to keep our economy strong instead of placing political gains over our well being. If they have to suffer along side us, then they will fight to do the will of the people.
“I will fight hard for the people. It is time for change. Our current congressman has put diplomacy, and politics over the people. I will be agressive and honest for the sake of ” people over politics.” There will be many that cling on to old policies that have failed us. We simply can not afford to put old loyalty for one politician over the peoples best interest. We are FIGHTING to be elected for the people of the fourth district. I ask everyone not to confuse passion for whats right with anger. I fight with passion for us all, with the truth.”
Jim has experience that sets him apart from the other candidates which includes extensive work with Children’s issues and organizations such as Action for Internationally abducted children, and was a declarant of an open letter read in the US Congress to Secretary of State Clinton to promote new laws and enforce existing laws to protect the over 100,000 children over seas. Jim has extensive investigative experience, as he single handed found USAID, and Plan Colombia waste and fraud in the nation of Colombia that he fights to make known and corrected to this day. Jim knows first hand how our tax dollars are wasted in foreign aid and can work to shed light and provide measures to insure our tax dollars are no longer wasted in foreign countries. No candidate for US Office is more qualified to deal with the countless waste and fraud in foreign aid and social programs for those in poverty. Jim has also played an important role in making public transit in Burlington NC a reality that is now being discussed in a serious fashion after a prolonged fight since 1980. Jim also knows the value of a dollar as he had a small residential electrical company for years. Jim doesn’t know the meaning of “give up or give in” when it comes to our tax dollars being misused and wasted. He is the only Republican candidate in the district 4 primary for US Congress that has not been in serious conflict with the party or its leaders. Jim is the only candidate that can go head to head on social issues and welfare abuses with Democratic incumbent David Price.
I am for conservative values such as low taxes and less federal Government. The federal Government has proven time and again to be a failure at policies such as departments that have failed us for years, like the Dept. of Energy, Dept.of Education and on and on. I am for a strong military yet understand we can no longer continue to occupy countries, that being said it would be irresponsible to pull out of the current occupation without an exit strategy by and from our Generals. We have to continue and finish what we started and stay strong against those who wish us harm.
I am a Christian, my faith will always play a role in my decisions. So often today we hear about our rights being taken, one example is Christmas in some areas in the northern part of our country they have banned saying “Merry Christmas”. Some want to take “In God We Trust” away. And others would have us pull down the Ten Commandments. I will never vote to take away another person’s right. But I will NEVER vote to take away our Christian rights as well! I am anti-abortion except in cases of rape and incest or where the mothers life is at risk. I am against federal funding abortions and clinics that perform abortions. I also believe parents should be notified before an abortion takes place on their child.
I am against free trade deals that all too often leave us at a disadvantage and have decimated our manufacturing sector costing thousands upon thousands of US jobs. We have to get to work on our economy and get people back to work.
